Divine Apostasy Series

First up is The Divine Apostasy series, which follows the journey of Ruwen, a young man who is about to undergo the ceremony to become an ascendant. This ceremony is lethal to the individual, which is intentional in order for them to be added to the temple roster, and allows them to revive at a temple when they perish, so long as they remain within the sphere of influence of their attached temples.
An ascendant gains access to the class system, which grants unique spells depending on the class you are given. This fact influences what the citizens of Uru work for, including Ruwen. His goal is to become a mage, one of the most powerful, and respected classes in Uru’s lands.
Prior to his Ascendancy day, Ruwen does everything he can to stack his stats in favor of becoming a mage. However, forces at the apex of power had other plans, and he was forced into playing a part in their godly games, complete with assassination attempts.
Can Ruwen survive the plots of those who seek his head, simply for the fact of being the champion of Uru?
